nus nus nus.... i'm slightly sian about havin to go there... but its not as though my parents are forcing me to... dad's very diplomatically giving me the option to go anywhere i want... even london. basically i've got to choose between nus, imperial, queen mary, and melbourne. nus, imp and mel are pretty good options. so i'm stuck.
but for cost reasons, cos i would never ever overcome my guilt if i made my parents pay close to $600 000 for my mbbs-bsc in imperial, or $400 000 for an mbbs-bsc in melbourne, i might just choose nus. not like they can't particularly afford it, but i just cannot make them do it. yeah.
but i dun really want nus. i want to go someplace exotic, where i wont have to worry about every cent i spend (scholarship), where i can experience 4 seasons, have a hell lot of fun at school away from home (i'm so sick of having to mug my brains out), and experience a whole new culture and surroundings. i feel sian about having studied so hard all my life, worked so hard to be all-rounded, to have pretty good results cum cca record, etcetc, and still having to go to nus. no doubt its medicine. but STILL...
so maybe i'm just overcoming my sianness abt having to study in someplace i'm just liddat about... by like making myself happy by spending on other stuff i want. sigh.
i dint exactly tear into the envelope from nus when it arrived, containing the admissions, freshman info. i havent even read it to be honest. dunno.
i think i'm in denial about going there. 14 more days till i have to go press "accept" on the nus website.

i feel like straightening my hair... heh shld i? i want to keep shoulder length hair, but the problem is that it tends to curl annoyingly outwards when it reaches a certain length below my chin... so no matter how good the hairdresser is, my hair's still annoyingly messy and curly. HMMMS. i can get it done for maybe 50sing in penang haha over the coming weekend when i'm there... dunno if i should...

driving is fun! haha... i drove my parents home from starwars movie on friday night... then i drove them to changi and shenton way to get bathroom accessories (renovation stuff), then to joo chiat there for famous beach road prawn mee for lunch! hahaha... later im going to drive mum to the waterloo street temple cos its vesak day. driving is quite fun, now i just have to gain my confidence in parking outside without the poles thats all. heh. good good. my mum's car has that sensor that tells u when u're gonna hit sthg from the back, which is good, cos i get really paranoid about that when im trying to park, esp parallel parking.
sianning ard at home is so so... haha. nowadays apart from work, i havent got really much else. i shld start studio wu again. yeah and cos there's little to occupy my time, i end up shopping. thankgoodness im not a really huge shopper. but in the past month, i've gotten 1 pair of shoes (pretty pink and blue wedges from vnc!!! my bday present to myself haha), 1 top yesterday (tangs studio sale, $39, but i got it at $11), linen pants from giodarno that are so comfy (sale again..), 2 pairs of pearl earrings, and i cant remember what else. oh yes. bloom sheer face colour cream (original $29.90, but this place near my office having a closing down sale, i got it for $5.90!) haha... yeah. its wonderful, smells lovely of lavendar and all.. haha. wonderful.
im waiting fervently for great s'pore sale to come along, then hopefully everywhere will be on sale, and it'll be more fun to shop! haha. 27th may. too bad then i'll be in penang over the weekend, but in penang, there's FOOD! haha... and vincci, the haven of pretty and cheap shoes from malaysia (singapore equivalent vnc, but the msian one is slightly cheaper after the exchange rate)... yeah.
when did i become a shopaholic? HMMMMs. haha
and a foodie too. in the past month, i've eaten like 3 buffets. haha. goodness.

heh. i havent blogged for really really long... just been caught up in lotsa stuff lately i guess.
dance night was a blast. the first 3 shows were not great, but at least with the last one (the most impt one for me anw, with parents and lawrence and yun watching), it was a huge success! hahaha. finally got the exhiliration of performing, and the high from being excited and happy about dance! hahaha. nice nice. i lost my pointe shoes tho... and we got really good comments about the alumni dance. im a contented girl =)
oh yes. then my birthday went by hahaha.. mm had a wonderful celebration on sunday.. lawrence took me for high tea at ritz! haha which was wonderful and fattening.. but who really cares! hahaha. i got a free strawberry moouse! hee =) yes that was wonderful. mm well my parents were too busy to celebrate for me on my day itself.. my bday almost went by without me cutting any cake or making any bday wish... cos cldnt get a cake. then at 11pm my mum felt so bad, cos i was quite disappointed (i mean, bdays are impt to me, esp that must at least have ppl sing song for u, then u make bday wish... ), she went out to buy me a small cake. then i felt horrible and selfish... but anyhow mum made me a totally sweet card. she drew a pic of a cake (that i didnt get this year), and inside she printed some stuff and pasted it there... and my praents wrote totally sweet and nice stuff.
they promised me a laptop. im looking closely at ibooks! hahaha they seem really good! haha. yes. might get one within the next 3mths or so.
and today was such a PERFECT DAY.
first. lawrence came to my house at the time i woke up, and brought me nice tea ping, and we watched nice movie at my place!
second, went for driving test... and i PASSED with 12 points! I'm officially a qualified driver man! hahaha yay! finally. i drove home just now from tangs heh hee! lawrence gave me my p-plate! hahaha
third, learnt that i got into NUS MEDICINE! yay! hahahaha. how many good news can come in one day???
fourth, watched starwars for FREE!!!! haha daddy's business associates from JPMorgan gave us tickets. so my parents, lawrence and me went =)
fifth, had a totally nice and fun dinner at nydc after that! ate nice farmboy chicken salad, baked pasta, mushroom madness, mudpie and cheesecake!
six, i emptied my bowels! haha k fine that was out of point, but when you have constipation.. real bad, sitting in the toilet for 1+ hour to empty bowels is worth it. =)
and i have so much to look forward to tmr! going shopping w parents, going to look at my ibook, then going for hyatt buffet dinner to celebrate my bday, and nus! hahaha. how nice =)

heh i love my job! hahaha im currently working at abn-amro, on a project researching on various commodities in their global commodities finance dept. and learning the ropes of handling customer transactions (often in the millions) from my colleague so that when she goes on her block leave in a couple of wks, i can take over her job temporarily haha. its quite happifying cos my colleagues are nice to me, and they take care of me alot.. and i love the free drinks dispenser in the pantry, haha, wrestling with the binding machine, and their photocopier got built in stapler one! wah i was so in awe on my first day! haha. and shenton way is such a food haven, heh so much good food around... i love buying in smoothies after lunch from planet smoothie in caltex house so i can slowly sip and do my work heh. and i love being office girl to send documents throughout the various levels for processing, cos i get to walk and stretch my legs!
enjoying myself pls. hahaha. saddened that cpf is going to take a cut out of my pay.
and lawrence gave me a nice starbucks mug and 100 teabags, all different twinings herbal infusions flavours! haha so fun! i think that's cos i keep swooning about the hot milk tea (teh) taht you can get from the dispenser, just that its quite sweet so must dilute, and this tea has alot of sugar so its ultra fattening! then sweet him gets me nice healthy tea that i can drink to similarly keep warm. *sighs blissfully*
wah my white tutu is so freaking huge. hai, i hope the tailor alters it nicely there, at the moment the cloth is so loose it barely covers my chest! hai. haha.
and well im quite excited. dance nite is coming! and there's all the practices. and well this is the period oftime when its most exciting, cos you know the steps already, are comfortable in them, and all u do is just keep practising, and thnking about the fun details like costume, hair and accessories! haha. yes.
happifying. i like working. hahaha. it makes me look forward to dance more, and i actually dance better hence haha. yay!
