hello! haha i spent the entire yesterday doing up my pgp room!!! lawrence brought his super duper bulky and powerful water vacuum cleaner, and i bought alot of dettol products and rags and toilet scrubs and whatnot. so.. for about 4 straight hours, we scrubbed and scrubbed and scrubbed! lawrence vaccummed my mattress like 4 times! and i scrubbed the grime off the toilet walls like for 1hr maybe. haha.. then the blinds, and i even cleaned the walls. lawrence n his super vacuum cleaner sucked off all the dirt from every crevice cos it comes with super alot of attachments for various purposes. and i wiped everything with antibacterial dettol disinfectant. hahaha.. okok then we went to ikea and spent abt 110 plus in stuff for my room like the lampshade, a pretty pot of plant, tray plate and bowl, bathroom mat, and other accessories. haha.. and ooh the transformation was fantastic. i finally found a use for shuen's pretty flower lights that she gave me on my 18th bday! it looks mesmerising.. thanks dear!

okok photos!!!

the room before we really did anythign to it... was quite musty and dusty, but otherwise promising =)

me looking really hideous and wiping the aircon filters with dettol soaked rag! hooray for dettol!

lawrence and me! washed up to go ikea!!!

and voila! my cosy pretty room after all our hard work!!!! yay!!!

and with me in it!!! hahaha

yay!!! ohohoh lynette khoo is my neighbour! haha

woke up this morning, slightly sicker than i was before... what started out as a mild, occasional cough, that i thot transpired from my unpacking of tremendously dusty boxes, has evolved into a full fledged rasping cough. haha was it the 2 pcs of hazelnut choc i ate last night? hmmms... but anyhows, so i decided to take this last weekday of official holidays off and stay at home, reveling in the joys of home comforts before i move to pgp. haha. except it wldnt be much diff than pgp, cos with the renovation im basically tied to the bed, and my daily activities carried out here. hahaha. the difference: food within reach, anytime. and i dont have to pay an extra dime for it! haha...

i think my body is protesting against going back to the routine of daily school. sighs.

ok i decided i will post photos from my HK trip heh. =)

this is the wonderful teh-ping i found at this nook and cranny coffeeshop there... wonderfully thick and aromatic, and the best part of it was, because they freeze teh-ping cubes and add it into the drink too, the drink never gets diluted as the ice melts. =) hooray for good teh-ping!!!

*rasping cough*.. excuse me..

the newspaper clippings plastered over the entrance of the coffeeshop, that drew me to it... it was totally covered by market stalls outside lor.. mad haha... hk ppl arent modest are they..

my favourite! egg tarts! these were mini egg tarts, the shell was crisp and savoury, the egg filling was creamy and warm... and not too sweet.. totally heavenly lor. i swooned when i first ate it haha... this was another accidental find actually... went back the next day, and the shop was unfortunately closed because it was jul 1st, public hol for the historic HK takeover by China.

a fascinating traditional HK tea shop where dad and i had delicious dimsum.. the waiters were all old, and none of them spoke chinese. only cantonese. and they push the food ard in carts and u pick and choose whatever u want. haha.. so traditional and ancient, and tucked away in the back streets of Central. it wasnt that cheap tho.. dad and i ordered 6 baskets in total and it came up to abt S$40 bucks. yeah... didnt manage to take photos of the food tho.. i ate it too fast haha...

this is the shopping crowd on a friday larh. madness please... at causeway bay where many major shopping centres converge.

heh heh and on flight home, dad let me sit business class to try! haha im so lucky.. but that was cos dad was in HK for business, and i, pleasure, so we had one business (paid for by his company) and one economy (paid for by milleage pts for me) return tickets. and i nv tried before, so he insisted i try on the flight back... well, what can i say.. it was definitely comfortable, and service nice... u get served a TREMENDOUS lot of food on nice cutlery... all glass and china, none of those lousy plastic things. haha the next few pictures will show u the "lunch" they served...

a full course of appetiser consisting of salad and seared tuna, main course with rice and some nice fish i cant rem the name of, cheese platter ( im currently REALLY in love with the diff types of cheeses...), and they had an amazing assortment of fruits for us to choose from, but i was really too full to eat anymore.. oh yes and there was another dessert of mango shortcake, but i dint take a pic of that haha...

gosh this is like once in a lifetime for me, haha doubt i'll ever get the opportunity again, nor will i ask my dad to let me sit business when im w him too.. haha... i like economy tho, i think its cosier =) when there's no idiot in front of u who MUST recline fully, which irritates me to hell because my legs are so long and tend to get constricted and cannot move at all... but it always seems to happen. on planes i always get the seat behind a person who loves reclining fully. haha sighs. tough luck eh.

and the other things i've been up to:

meeting up with darling shuen who came to s'pore recently!

diane! and the coffee tarts we tried from crystal jade... which i didnt like too much...

coffee bean breakfast with lawrence =) haha

had college day today back at RJ... went back to get some award for A level excellence... $20 Times book voucher. the book vouchers i get seem to last me forever. i barely used finished my $250 one from the SSEF and the $20 one that lawrence gave me for my 18th bday only haha... but book vouchers are good. i love books, and the only time i buy them are when i have vouchers to hahaha.

anyhow in the morning on the way there, dad totally dillydallyed, talk to contractor, etcetc, left the hse at 815, which i was damn pissed abt cos must report at 820. then drive drive drive, make wrong turns everywhere.. at 835 the teacher called me and said i cant collect my award anymore, then i was super pissed w dad, cos like this was the first time he's gg to my awards thing, and he just has to screw everything up. well done. but anyway we got to RJ by 845, and stil managed to wangle my way back on the prize winner's list, and sit w them... so i still got to go take my prize. lawrence, my sweetie, came down too. so nice. and it was vv nice to meet all my old friends and teachers again.. most of the teachers say they cant recognise me. so weird. i din lose all that much weight wad. (and in fact i just put on 2kg... from the chalet. i must seriously go start running or sthg again. or i'll balloon back again. sighs)

dad bought an audi A6 today. another new car. nice suspension, spacious interior, v nice car... except i think the engine abit noisy from the interior only. yeah he's trading in his old merce that's falling apart and requiring way too much serivicing. and that car broke down both times when we drove to penang summore. hahaha.

had dinner at peach garden. lauras mum vv nice as usual, nice service fantastic food, and she gave us free dessert summore. haha. yay. i love the almond cream there hee.

ive been planning how to decorate my dorm. the way its going its gg to be like somewhat pink hahaha. sheesh. ohwells. i like anyway haha... moving in next sat... so babes (aka di, yun, sarah, si) if u all want to come crash, do it the following wk b4 lessons starts k? i'll dig out my sleeping bag so that u gals can crash on the floor too. haha. muacks.

going back to PS again tmr. parents might want to buy dining chair from barang2, which i chose... and im gg to buy my aussino's tshirt soft quilt set in coral! haha... for my dorm. heh yay... bought my txtbooks last fri... SO HEAVY. and flip open all the books and im like shit, i cant imagine i have to study and remember all these. ohwells i asked for it. sighs. haha...

hello! havent bloggd in ages and ages. =)

medicamp was fun!! popeye's a great og, and everyone's just so nice... it was fun getting to know ppl, even those from rj whom i never really got to know properly before, like zongxian, sheryl, esther, hon, andrew f... and coincidentally, andrew leong, who lives on the same road as me, was in my og too! and so was en ming, who lives really really nearby too! haha so fun! =) our ogls were great too! and i got a nice councillor (m2 who's like ur buddy, helps u thru ur first year and everything) is yingen! who's been really great so far =)

im all geared up to move in into my pgp room! (wenkien's just 3 levels below me exactly.. so exciting haha)
i'm going to get a rug (ikea red checks $9.90), floorlamp (?), travelling rug (ikea $15), bathroom mat (eyeing spotlight $19.90), plastic boxes for under the bed (ikea $5 each), tablemats ($2 each spotlight), toiletries holder (ikea $7), and whatever else catches my fancy when i go down to ikea after checking in. i'll also need stuff like mattress protector, all my bed rubbish like comforter, extra pillows, bolster... my sleeping bag for ppl to sleep over, rollerchair, tray, cutlery, plates/bowls, cleaning materials, my txtbooks (which i bought today.. spent abt $300 alr and stil havent buy finish yet sigh), clothes, and loads of other sentimental rubbish haha...

going for medicamp tomorrow! haha will get to see all my fellow medics, classmates for the next 5 years... *brrrr* haha yeah... im figuring out y we need 6 sets of tees and shorts on top of sleeping attire and all, for 3d 2n, which is more like a 2d2n thing anyway... haha. hope it'll be fun. i was told not to expect it to be as fun as union camp.. ohwells.. haha i loved union camp. my ogmates are so terrific. so sad im going to have to skip their chalet bbq thing tomorrow cos of medicamp. miss them already. haha. and wow! its only been less than 5days since we broke camp, and rumours abound abt *ahem* in Watzup! already! hahaha. eugene promised to tell me tomorrow - i'll hold u to that promise eh. haha.

and dear sweet lawrence is going to bring me macs breakfast tomorrow at sci, before i have to gather at 9. haha *rubs hands gleefully!*... spent a nice day with him today, from brunch at coffeebean taka, then we walked around art friend sourcing for ideas to decorate my pgp dorm... then we went for this talent scout interview thing.. cos i got scouted for some ad company, den we went to his place =) haha yay v happy haha... and i totally pigged out tonight AGAIN. haha. i have to control my diet in the evenings man. sigh.

oh yes. did anyone read the nkf report about the CEO? i think its totally deplorable la.. sigh. sign this petition if u feel that way too.
http://www.petitiononline.com/nkfs/
yeah. sigh to think of all the hours i used to spend collecting donations for them. and where has it gone to. sigh haha. oh yeah and check ur giro transactions please, cos i heard most accounts have an automatic giro transfer donation to them. i dun have, but my mum's one transfers $6 every month to them. lawrence's had $3 per month. so yeah. u can cancel it if u dun want to donate to them anymore, but its totally ur choice la. its a worthy cause, but the people in charge of the $ are just too irreliable, our faith (and money) was misplaced. just hope the grassroot sectors of the NKF isnt too affected by the forseeable sudden withdrawal of funds, because the people who use it do really need the funds la. yeah. i watched that petition grow, from person 1, to person 76 at last checking, in just a few hours haha. the word spreads fast man.

k i will blog again on friday maybe, after medicamp haha. pray i still have my voice after it... totally lost tt after union camp. oh yes, and that i dun go anymore chao ta. dark enuff already. sighs.

hey! just got back from an amazing 5d4n at the nus union camp! haha.... yeah sarah, that's y i havent been blogging... ive been at nus! =) it was like orientation all over again... except maybe better! cos like there were pool games, beach games at sentosa, fright night at haw par villa, war games in the src, chiong night at gotham's penthouse (yes!! i finally went clubbing :P), the endless nights staying up in eusoff hall.. i think i only slept a total of 12hours - maybe less, in the entire duration from tuesday till sat... i look like a puffed up negro now, tanned from all that sun, and puffed up cos of the huge eyebags, sigh. how to get back to normal? hahaha...

anyhow it was great, plus i had a fantastic og, watsup! haha... the ppl are really fun, and we won lotsa awards and everything... seniors were nice too... funny and all, and everyone was just really really sporting. had a really fantastic and memorable time heh... k now nus life looks a little brighter... at least i know some ppl, and well... maybe it wont be that bad after all. dunno.

medicamp next week. haha i think i will come out from this barrage of camps looking like shit. but what the hell haha... all in the name of fun!

wahlau this sucks.

i cant get online from home now because i gotta disconnect everything from my 2nd floor (where the comp, cable, internet connections are) because the contractors are gonna grind the parquet floor. it was initially supposed to be done over the few days when i wasnt ard, in HK, but to my dismay, when i returned home, everything was still undone!

misery man... am blogging from lawrence's house now haha.

and cos the construction ppl were so adamant that i had to move out of my room so that they could tear down my toilet "next wk" (which happens to be more than 3wks ago), so now my whole family is squeezed into my parents' room, even tho the construction ppl are so slow they havent started on anywhere else yet.

sighs. so much for saying that it;ll be all done in 2-3 months max. its almost 3mths and its maybe 15% done only. sucks man.

hello! im at the HK airport SQ first class lounge now... haha did not fly first class to HK, but dad's a solitaire member cos of all the flying he does for work. so its just one of the perks. just had a haagan daz cookies and cream, looking longingly thinking whether i shld get a strawberry now heh.

HK's great... 2 full days of shopping! but i dint buy very much for myself.. spent $62 on myself only. damn proud of it hahaha. got me 2 hollister tshirts ($9 each only!!) and a pretty denim skirt ($40. k ex, but i loved it so much cldnt resist), and a cute pink at-home short ($4!). shopping here isnt great... ok fine. the range is humongous, and the fashions are up to the minute. but HK ppl tend to spend lots on their clothing! like mainstream stores have a normal blouse for $60 and ppl are buying like mad. crazy lor. i dont spend so much on my clothes pls.. so yeah. haha..
but got lots for mum.. 2 suits, a blouse, a bag and a pair of shoes.. spent abt $500 on her i think... and dad got working shoes too!

i had alot of fun exploring the nooks and crannies of HK... found some really good food, authentic traditional dimsum shops, noodle congee shops.. etc.. and had fun browsing the little stores even though i din really want to buy so ex stuff! i saw a BEAUTIFUL pair of jeans with chinese knots... i loved it so much but it was like S$200 odd. haha ok. not so generous w money on clothes. hahaha. i found tiny eggtarts that were delicious, i got lost in the streets, and i enjoyed bantering with the egg tart shop guy. haha and all the sales ppl thought i was taiwanese! that was surprising.. haha. OH and did u know u can bargain with boutiques?? haha first time! i was like telling the sales girl ok this bag abit ex, cos s'pore can get for abt $30 odd, and that one i was eyeing cost $50+++. yeah. then she suddenly offered me a lower price! haha

k gotta board now! will post pics later.
