sigh. life really sucks. thank god for friends like brandon, and badminton khakis like zhen, weiming, charmaine, christine (partner!!!), donald, zhimin etcetcetc... esp donald and adriel who made me and christine laugh so much just now. =) playing badminton like table tennis. hahaha zhimin, christine and i were totally bent over laughing and laughing! haha... glad that evening badminton looks like its going to be a regular feature in my life... does me a whole world of good (not to mention efficiency in mugging) to get out and play with ppl sometimes.

dnd was really fun! haha... it was hilarious to see everyone dressed up in outlandish outfits, esp dehan in his 60s do, he's so tall alr, then with the afro wig, he totally stands out (literally) in the crowd! haha... and toe/yingen/hanboon/sel's table of hookers and pimps are really really cute too =) with their weird wigs and all.. we were in black and white... alternate ppl seated at the table dressed in black and white. i wore black! hahaha.. so just recycled an old lbd =) shall post pics once i get them =) most of them arent in my camera SD card cos i left mine in pgp!!! sighs. the perils of an absent sd card.

shall get back to studying then =) feel much better now, but not looking forward to later. i really dont know what to say to him.

medical school is daunting.

everyone rushes to mug after lectures. despite sleeping at 3am last night going through my upper limb tutorial on joints, i still am confused about all the muscles, innervations, bones, muscle insertions and origins, movements etc. prof voon is a darling to go through stuff with us in extra supplementary lectures, even though my tummy was rumbling all throughout his insights on how to study joints today... maybe prof gopal will enlighten me tomorrow. haha...

well actually everything isnt very hard to understand. the stuff we study is, well to me, manageable. its just the sheer volume of it that is immensely daunting. talked to the m2 jianyang (did i get his name right??) during break today, and he was guiding me on how to study anatomy... which sounded okay i guess... but when you get down to it, well i hope it'll be better.

i wonder how my life would have been different if i had chosen to go to imperial instead.. well for one i'd still be slacking right now instead of plowing through stacks of anatomy, physio, histo and biochem textbooks every single day. but its not really time to regret my actions.

spent lunch at subway at holland v with fiona and candice, and miriam as well (who happened along and joined us there heh). over my favourite veggie delite with extra cheese, we were totally ranting how crazy the whole pace was, and well other stresses in life too.. it feels like As all over again, just that now i'm grasping in new ground... new learning methods to adopt, new habits, and living on my own in my cosy (claustrophobic) little pgp room.

other than the work, i've made friends who are such gems... my og ppl like bean, cel, zhen, sheryl, esther, hilda, weiming, liwei, zhenjin (mac convert!!!!), tengsoon, yingxian etcetcetc, other random people like candice, miriam, dennis, and loads of others... well they just make the whole thing rosier larh... makes it easier to trudge to class every day... haha and today just as i was walking back for the extra lectures the dean's office sprung on us, had an impromptu arm wrestling session with yingen which was REALLY funny hahaha...

now, as fiona, candice, miriam and the rest of med fac are undoubtedly doing, i shall attempt to relieve my stress by studying. over lunch, we've concluded that this is probably the best way to relieve some of the pressure suffocating us...

school this week's been pretty good.. lectures on mon and tues, then first aid basic qualification test on wed-thurs (i passed!), and first anat pract n lect today. lots and lots to study... once u finish one chapt, there's barely any sense of accomplishment because there's loads more to plow through! sigh... haha... but so far i've managed to intersperse mugging with spending time w lawrence, hanging out with friends, watched dimsum dollies with parents, shopping even haha.. yeah. not too bad larhs. tonight's selene's farewell party. cant believe all my close frens are leaving one by one. sarah's in ithaca already... sel's leaving on wed... yeah... will miss them so much =(

met ivan (20th oteam, lawrence's ogl) at coffee grounds aka medicine cafe just now... haha he looks so different with his hairstyle and all.. gives him a more "distinguished" look. hahaha.. yeah. i wonder in 2 years time, when the lot of us start our clinicals, how different will we be from the freshies we are now. sigh... haha...

so adorable! i wish life went that way though.. too bad life doesnt get easier as you go further along it... =P

haha recently i've heard the most weird comments of how i look like joanne peh... like this girl in my cluster came out of her room and i was just smiling and saying hi, and her first comment was "has anyone ever told u u look like joanne peh?"... hahaha and that was the first time in my life i heard it. and well recently, herman msged me to tell me that too... and well yun strongly thinks so too... i wonder why all my life ive been here and only now im being suddenly compared w her. is she in a drama serial or sthg? i havent watched tv since maybe january. yeah.. haha...

so anyhow, being a slacker and an unsuccessful mugger, i decided to go compare. =P haha

verdict: hmms.. k larh not fantastically alike, im not about to rush to those variety shows that you can compete for having "ming2 xing1 xiang4". we have different mouths and she has gorgeous dimples and a pretty smile. her eyes look bigger too.. mm and well i think we just have similar face shape. hahaha... yeps =) hahaha... not bad not bad...

every so often i will lapse into my midnight bingeing sessions haha like tonight... 1/3 tub of water chestnut n redbean ice cream, one whole packet of almond biscuits (purely unintentionally), like maybe 12 waterbiscuits and brie cheese... goodness... hahaha..

but i really enjoy these sessions, though its a hell lot of work losing the weight i usually put on after that... hahaha... but worth it.. cos well apart from the times when i binge cos feeling depressed or whatever, these times when i just eat cos i want to, its mind numbingly comforting... and i feel so nice, full and satisfied after that... haha =) very nice =)

i'm definitely going to get ovarian cancer, either sooner or later.. must enjoy life before i have to suffer... hahaha.. its hereditary larh, and well mum had it, and so i have a super sky high chance of getting it too... an almost certainty. esp before i'm 30. better act fast if i want to have kids before i lose my ovaries and have to resort to artificial freeze-preservation of my oocytes, and thereafter IVF for conception if i want kids after i get cancer.. if i survive that is haha... =) thankfully ovarian cancer is one that's relatively high success rate in total remission.. which looks hopeful for me. =) haha...

medical sch is interesting.. definitely so... everyday i go back to my pretty pgp room infused with a new purpose to read and read and read, and study... hahaha... cos im quite excited abt the stuff i have to study and all! haha... tons and tons and tons of books already.. finally decided to get guyton today too.. another $80 gone. im gonna offset my cost for these by selling my sci textbooks... which i acquired last year (mcmurry's) and this year (biochem, molecular genetics) for chem S and my nus life sci courses respectively... anyone interested? fund-raising for medical textbooks here... =P haha...

and now i shall go to bed full and happy =) and wake up early and go to thomson for rotiprata breakfast =) haha... will go to the gym tmr too larh... will haf to work out the extra 1000kcals or so.. haha.. but the max ive been able to do in a single visit to the gym is 500.. ohwells.. working out is good! hee =)

oh yes and my dad decided to bring mum n me to dimsumdollies on wed on a whim! hahahah... so fun =) zhenjin said its good.. i hope so =)

so odd.. cant seem to read my previous post on my blog.

ok im fairly disgusted. haha.. had my first anat pract today... and whilst i wasnt too put off by the sight of 10 bodies lying on neatly arranged dissection tables in the anat hall, nor the sight of naked, preserved shrivelled up human forms... nor touching (w gloves of course) skin, muscle, tendons and veins, i was totally put off by the smell.. this bak kwa, roasted meat cum acrid eye-watering formalin smell that permeates your every pore quite disgusted me.. haha.. and lost my appetite for lunch..

but otherwise, seeing the human body in its real (albeit dry, smelly) form, was really quite interesting.. and haha some of the faces of the corpses are still fairly intact, with the skin removed. HMMS. haha.. oh and my cadaver (each tut grp was split into 2 grps and assigned 1 each) had his head all wrapped up. he was an indian man, dark skin, well developed muscles, and well this particular specimen was quite fresh. haha. then the other grp had an old lady, whose bones were really frail... and u cld still see her facial expression. sorta anw...

well classes are really quite interesting so far.. abit pained that i've spent so much on textbooks already.. close to $380 if i get the $80 guyton today... hmms.. yeah.. enjoy reading up and stuff abt all the things we learnt in lectures =) haha.. and my anat tutor who's a doctor doctor doctor (haha go figure, an MBBS, PhD, DSc all in one!) woohoo! hahaha...

well just for now, maybe i wont touch meat... go vegetarian for abit.. walked past the roasted meat stall at arts canteen and felt nauseous... now and then a wave of that smell still wafts by.. haha and i think next CNY i wont be eating bak kwa already... haha..

i worked out!! haha gymmed for 2hrs on sunday and ran up and down the kent ridge hills near pgp on monday evening.. now i feel... fitter. haha at least no more flabby thighs yuckyuckyuck... now i feel like running/cycling something again.. i think i will go be a member or find some way i can use the pgp gym then i can even go at night. yeah. yay...

first day of school was well interesting... sean the m4 told me i had to bring my histo text to lect so poor me happily lugged it to class... to see i was the only one with a kiasu textbook sigh haha.. and summore fiona returned me my harry potter book, so i had SO MANY THINGS TO CARRY! gah. haha thankyou bean and joshua who said i was very classy haha and joshua was so funny!! he said that me in my outfit (i wore a black tee and black-purple skirt) carrying books just didnt suit my 'image' (as though i had any image to upkeep in the first place), so he galiantly carried my harrypotter and junqueira for me on our walk to YIH munchie's for lunch! hahaha... yay... i guesss its good to start lectures again... but samuel tay is so horrendously fast we-who-did-bio-before had trouble keeping up w his leecture on cellmembranes and ERs i wonder how the-nv-take-bio-before people did it.. yeah...

and the first aid lect was interesting i guess the first lecturer had so many andecnotes to share with us... and baorong came up to me after the 30min cpr video and started poking around my ribs to find the "lowest part of the chest" spot where u're supposed to press for cpr haha... she cldnt find it, and proclaimed i had too hard abs so she cant tell the diff between my ribs and my flesh. hahaha... i say that im prob too fat so u cant feel my ribs in the first place dearie.. haha..

im not going to get a mezzanine level after all... haha.. just a really high sloping ceiling because it isnt feasible to have one. my room's too small.. *thinks dreamily of marcus's room that's so huge his bed is the size of my entire pgp room* haha nah but im happy with my nice nice room already. might get crystal drop flower lights for the high ceiling i think it will look v nice =)

more classes tmr... i really enjoy hanging out with my og ppl =)

stayed over in nus on friday night with popeye (ok i stay every night but they were there too cos of rag and flag)... gosh i love my og. we had a fun fun dinner at thai express, went back to school to help abit with float, then we went to swensen's to makan! i had half a cookie obsession - cookies and cream and butterscotch ice cream with maltesers and fudge! yum! (but at 2am?!? fattening!!) squashed into jerry's gf's car's boot with bean, and went back to nus whereupon we walked around the track looking at all the floats. everyone really put in alot of effort mans.. yeah many were gorgeous, esp bized's as usual.. crashed back at my dorm with bean... who was very cold alot of the time.. poor girl, im sorry u had a rough night... then went back to src to see rag and flag! hon, bean, issac and me were like caught in the middle of the vip area for anthem and pledge tho, haha and i never knew that there was a nus song!! haha... so funky. med rag went great... i was helping hanboon take pics most of the time tho... caught a few of him bouncing about in his cute corn costume! haha.. went back, had lunch, slept.. went home, slept summore. yeah.

my house is dusty. and im going to get a loft room. removed my ceiling, and now i have a super high sloping ceiling with wooden beams exposing! haha.. my room looks HUGE now even tho its the same size. might even add a mezzanine level in my room too haha...

hello!! blogging from my cosy comfy pgp room right now =) waiting to go for float later, meeting the og there at 1030. sure hope that there're things to do... cos everytime we listen to the numerous emails flooding our mailboxes beseeching us to go for float, and turn up at 10am, there's always nothing to do, even tho we wait till 12n haha.. but then again when these things happen, popeye goes for super fun og outings!!! haha lets see.. there's the one where 12 of us squeezed into marcus's 7seater car and went to greatworldcity and his house, and the flagday on tues where we chatted alot and slacked quite abit haha but still managed to collect some money larh.. superduper fun =)

yesterday went on this tour of little india!!! ate the famous (superlongqueue) nasi briyani at tekka food centre, tried delicious indian rojak and drank frothy teh halia! haha and went to this other place to eat fresh chappati with heavenly mutton curry!! hahaha.. walked around little india quite abit, and i bought $6 pink slippers from mustafa! hahaha... nice nice! i wanted to take pics of all the food, but din get a chance to, cos finished it too fast! haha

and after that, *drumroll* i caught the first sneak of charlie and the chocolate factory!!! and ate my favourite sweet popcorn, and also chocolate whilst watching it! haha yes i know im getting fat what with all that food, but the thought of going for a chocolate movie without eating chocolate was simply too hard to resist. anyhow i thought it was very nice! with nice funny parts inserted all over the place. and the oompaloompas being so darn funny! hahaha.. the candy looked delectable, and all the effects were good. i cant imagine how they got johnny depp (whom i think is a genius btw) 's skin so deathly white like michael jackson haha but he looked believeable. and well the show is very close to the book, so it brought all my visualisations of the story, when i read it as a little girl, to life! hahaha.. yeah. good =)

then i went home for dinner =) and came back to pgp at like midnight haha...
