some of the stuff from last week.

when i go out with friends nowadays, esp for meals, they groan when i whip out the camera. Because the inevitable thought that flashes through their minds would be "oh no, huilin is going to take pictures of food again!" so much so that joshua and marcus retaliated and complained during lunch on wednesday. ah well. its an addiction that's hard to kick. esp when you have yours truly perusing food blogs every spare moment she has. and i remember better about the events that happen by the food we eat. my stomach (or more accurately, my GIT) has a 'brain' of its own. yes, that's right. but in most people it functions to regulate the GIT, but in mine (im special, you see), it has a special memory function too! whee =)

okay. so this week, there was celene darling's birthday on tuesday (happy birthday darling!) which she celebrated with us at timbre. timbre's a nice place =) open air, live music (which is especially good on tuesdays i think), and free flow of conversation. refer to wenkien's blog for photos.
tuesday was also unfortunately the day i took out my 3rd left upper molar - aka a wisdom tooth. which hurt alot. and the dentist didnt give me painkillers. and tuesday was also the day of the first world cup match of the season i was going to watch, which lawrence stayed over for. but it wasnt to be. my mouth hurt so much that i decided to sleep it off instead. snuggling up comfortably on my little patch of living room floor.

so on wed morning, the pig couldnt wake up yet, but i was already up at 730am. so i made pancakes! pancakes with a chunky apple sauce yum =) lawrence asked me as he was munching happily "lin, which brand do u use?" i was utterly mortified. and offended. because i make things from scratch. the basic flour, butter, eggs and stuff. yeah. whee =) haha.

after that, met up with dearest shu en who's back from australia for a short bit for some wantan mee and prata! was realli great to meet up with her again!

and the later part of the day i decided to make this peach crumble coffeecake. it's a coffeecake only cos u eat it with like coffee or tea, and not cos like there's coffee inside. it was pretty nice. i loved the nutmeg flavour in the crumble. unfortunately i didnt anticipate the crumble becoming mushy in the precense of the wet peach. else it was delectable as it came out of the oven, with a nice crunch from the crumble and sweetness from the peach. a couple hours later tho, it wasnt so good anymore. bleah. the crumble layer became mushy and well. yeah too bad. it was good whilst it lasted...

and on thurs, was lunch with joshua and marcus - joshua treated marcus n me to jap lunch! utterly delicious thanks man. but unfortunately i wont remember it by because these dudes forbade me to take pictures of the food, and nor of them either! blah. but watching the indian bollywood-esque movie Krrish later at the lido cineplex was a real good laugh, and quite exciting at parts too. fun. it was pretty good! my first indian movie in a cinema. haha... and then haircut with selene at orchard emerald. =)

and fri i went down to school to support munus. partly cos my cousin's bf was part of the MU contingent, so it was only nice to like u know, go down and show face. but it was quite fun larhs =) yeah

and for a late lunch i had really fantastic avocado milkshake and claypot curry from alexandra village. wonderful =) ive been drinking this avocado thing like almost everyday last week. fattening too i think =P

okok i gotta go bake my cookies now =) korova cookies - the recipe called it the world's greatest cookie. formulated by my pastry god-idol pierre herme! i made the dough last night and chilled it in the fridge overnight, wanna bake them before going out later. cant wait to try it!
